Abstract

The Prime objective of this article is to analyze the consumer behaviour in the light of Islam. In writing this descriptive research work, the content analysis method has been adopted. The Quran and Prophetic tradition have been used as the primary source and the exegesis and different relevant books and articles as the secondary one. The findings suggest that in the conventional economics a consumer decides by his own discretion and rational in acquiring a certain property, choosing goods, consuming them, expending, and saving and so on. The most priority of the choice and fulfilment of the demand and the best utility of wealth are reflected in the behaviour of the consumer class. In contrast, in iqtiṣād, the consumer behaviour is controlled and governed by the Islamic principles of consumption. In this regard, Islam pooh-poohs the unlimited desire of the consumer and emphasizes the fulfilment of the necessity most, and, based on it, determines the consumer behaviour.

সারসংক্ষেপ : বক্ষ্যমাণ গবেষণা প্রবন্ধটির মূল উদ্দেশ্য ইসলামী শরী’আহ্র আলোকে ভোক্তা-আচরণ বিশ্লেষণ করা। বর্ণনামূলক এ গবেষণাকর্মটি প্রণয়নে পাঠ-বিশ্লেষণ পদ্ধতি অনুসরণ করা হয়েছে। প্রাথমিক ও সহায়ক উৎস হতে তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা হয়েছে। প্রাথমিক উৎস হিসেবে কুরআন, হাদীস এবং সহায়ক উৎস হিসেবে তাফসীর, সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভিন্ন বই ও প্রবন্ধ ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। প্রাপ্ত তথ্য বিশ্লেষণ করে দেখা যায় যে, প্রচলিত অর্থনীতিতে ভোক্তা নিজস্ব যুক্তির আলোকে সম্পদ আহরণ, পণ্য পছন্দ, ভোগ, ব্যয়, সঞ্চয় প্রভৃতি ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করে থাকে। ভোক্তাশ্রেণির আচরণে পছন্দ ও চাহিদা পূরণের সর্বাধিক প্রাধান্য এবং সম্পদের সর্বোচ্চ উপযোগিতা প্রতিফলিত হয়। পক্ষান্তরে ইসলামী অর্থনীতির অধীনে ভোক্তার আচরণ ইসলামী নীতির দ্বারা নিয়ন্ত্রিত ও পরিচালিত হয়। এক্ষেত্রে ইসলাম ভোক্তার সীমাহীন চাহিদাকে বর্জন করে প্রয়োজন পূরণকে সমধিক গুরুত্ব দেয় এবং তদনুযায়ী ভোক্তার আচরণ নির্ধারণ করে।
