Abstract

The acquisition and consumption of unlawful wealth pose a grave challenge to the economic stability, justice, and good governance of individuals, societies, and states alike. In this context, the objective of this research is to analyze the similarities and differences between the principles articulated in Verse 188 of Surah Al-Baqarah and the relevant targets of Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG-16) regarding the prohibition of acquiring and consuming illicit wealth. This study employs descriptive, analytical, and comparative research methodologies. The findings reveal a significant alignment between the two frameworks in preventing the acquisition and consumption of unlawful wealth, eradicating corruption and bribery, establishing economic justice, and ensuring good governance. However, while Verse 188 of Surah Al-Baqarah prioritizes ethical and spiritual foundations alongside legal frameworks, the relevant targets of SDG-16 emphasize exclusively institutional and policy-driven structural reforms. By examining these intersections and divergences, the research highlights the profound relevance of both frameworks in establishing a just, accountable, corruption-free, and sustainable economic order.

সারসংক্ষেপ: অবৈধ স¤পদ অর্জন ও ভোগ ব্যক্তি, সমাজ এবং রাষ্ট্রের অর্থনৈতিক স্থিতিশীলতা, ন্যায়বিচার এবং সুশাসনের জন্য একটি গুরুতর চ্যালেঞ্জ। এ প্রেক্ষাপটে বর্তমান গবেষণার উদ্দেশ্য হলো অবৈধ স¤পদ অর্জন ও ভোগের নিষেধাজ্ঞায় সূরা আল-বাকারার ১৮৮ নং আয়াতে বর্ণিত মূলনীতিসমূহ এবং এসডিজি-১৬-এর প্রাসঙ্গিক লক্ষ্যমাত্রাসমূহের সাদৃশ্য ও বৈসাদৃশ্য বিশ্লেষণ করা। এ গবেষণায় বর্ণনামূলক, বিশ্লেষণধর্মী ও তুলনামূলক পদ্ধতি অনুসরণ করা হয়েছে। গবেষণার ফলাফলে দেখা যায়, অবৈধ স¤পদ অর্জন ও ভোগ প্রতিরোধ, দুর্নীতি ও ঘুষ নিরসন, অর্থনৈতিক ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠা এবং সুশাসন নিশ্চিত করার ক্ষেত্রে উভয়ের মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য সাদৃশ্য বিদ্যমান। তবে সূরা আল-বাকারার ১৮৮ নং আয়াত আইনগত কাঠামোর পাশাপাশি নৈতিকতাকেও প্রাধান্য দেয়, যেখানে এসডিজি-১৬-এর প্রাসঙ্গিক লক্ষ্যমাত্রাগুলো প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ও নীতিগত কাঠামো সংস্কারের গুরুত্বারোপ করে। গবেষণাটি সূরা আল-বাকারার ১৮৮ নং আয়াতে বর্ণিত অবৈধ সম্পদ অর্জন ও ভোগ সংক্রান্ত নিষেধাজ্ঞার মূলনীতির সঙ্গে এসডিজি-১৬-এর সংশ্লিষ্ট লক্ষ্যমাত্রাগুলোর সাদৃশ্য ও বৈসাদৃশ্য তুলে ধরে।
